Abstract Sculpture
These fiber sculptures are my latest experiments with dry felting, exploring forms and textures that can be achieved with wool and a barbed needle. My abstract fantastical mollusks are metaphors for home and human connections. Mollusks create their own homes, which grows with them. Each lives alone in its own shell. By contrast, we humans must find new homes as our circumstances and relationships change. These sculptures represent a wish for permanence in our homes and relationships.
