Yes, Zazzy Peacock will be making Event Decor -- very special custom handmade, sustainable, reusable party decor and centerpieces will be available to rent locally.
Artist and owner, Jill Newman, creates original hand-felted sculpture, jewelry, and accessories. After many years of showing her work and teaching her techniques --and a fabulous two-year hiatus/stint doing interior design-- Jill is back to creating, but with a new focus. Zazzy Peacock Studios will be doing business as Zazzy Peaock Event Decor. Stay tuned for photos and more details later this fall, with a projected launch in early 2024.

In addition to gearing up for the new business direction, I will be doing local craft shows this holiday season!
Please come see me and my latest work at the WHC Holiday Gift Boutique next weekend at the Bindeman Center in Potomac. The show is Sunday and Monday, November 12 and 13, 9:30am -6:30pm. I will have wonderful gifts for Thanksgiving and Chanukah and for everyone on your list.
My work will also be shown at the Holiday Gift Show at the Sandy Spring Museum from November 25 through December 23. If you're looking for my Christmas items (Elf ears and felted Santas, etc) that's the show for you.
About the Artist
Once upon a time, I was a lawyer, but I have always pursued artistic endeavors as well. I officially quit my job to become an artist almost 20 years ago. In 2011, when I discovered needle-felting, it was love at first poke. After experimenting with the usual felted flowers and such, I decided to make things that I would actually wear -- modern, funky, colorful jewelry. Many of my first designs were inspired by peacock feathers, animal prints, and other beautiful patterns and forms in nature. And so, Zazzy Peacock Studios was born! For years, I enjoyed teaching my love of needle felting and mixed media sculpture to my wonderful students, but unfortunately, the pandemic made meeting in person too difficult. I switched gears and worked as a kitchen and bath designer for the past two years, and although I loved it, I truly missed making colorful original creations with my own two hands. As I got back to creating again, I had an epiphany that I was born to help people celebrate their big life events with extraordinary handmade centerpieces, decorations, party favors, and gifts. I'm very excited to share my ideas. Please stay tuned...
